How DrugCritics.com Works
The goal of DrugCritics.com is to provide a collaborative learning environment for those that have little or no experience with drugs. Drug users are a valuable source of information for those seeking to learn about drugs and we hope to provide access to this source through this website.
Currently, DrugCritics.com is in the expansion phase of our strategy. We are growing our database of Reviews and Experiences as well as adding more drugs to the website. By having a comprehensive database of content submitted by all types of drug users that covers a wide range of drugs, we believe we can provide the best learning environment for those looking for information about drugs.
The Reviews at DrugCritics.com allow drug users to share their overall experiences with a drug in a short and concise form. Submissions are completely anonymous or users can sign up for a DrugCritics.com account and identify themselves. The Reviews also allow drug users to quantify their experience based on four categories, split into two sections:
- Risk of Addiction - Rate the level of addiction or dependence associated with using the drug. 1 star being no risk of addiction, and 5 stars being extreme risk of addiction. Most importantly, this rating should be done in reference to the addiction that the user personally experienced with the drug being reviewed, not the amount of addiction that is portrayed by "people you know" or common stereotypes.
- Health Risk - Rate how using the drug affects personal health. This can include effects to short-term health (side-effects), long-term health, mental health, psychological health, emotional health, and physical health. With the Health Risk Rating, potential users gauge how much a drug will effect their current state of health. Comments should be used to elaborate on the health risks and to point out any specific side effects or long-term problems.
- Quality of High - Rate the experience associated with the drug's "high". Feelings of euphoria, happiness, sadness, and aggressiveness are possible experiences related to the "high" of a drug. A 1 star rating means the "high" offers no beneficial feelings or even negative feelings. A 5 star rating means the "high" is a very profound, positive, beneficial and/or enjoyable experience.
- Approval Rating - Rate the drug based on the following question: "Do you approve the use of this drug by responsible, healthy adults?". Consider whether or not you would want a friend or family member to use the drug. A rating of 1 means you would not approve the use of the drug to others under any circumstances. A rating of 5 means that every responsible, healthy adult should experience the drug.
An Overall Score is calculated for each Review from the 4 ratings given by the user. The Risk factor ratings (Risk of Addiction and Health Risk) are inverse ratings which means that the ratings given by the user are inverted before averaged into the Overall Score. Here is an example calculation:
- Risk of Addiction Rating: 4 (inverted = 2)
- Health Risk Rating: 3 (inverted = 3)
- Quality of High Rating: 2
- Approval Rating: 1
- Overall Score = (2 + 3 + 2 + 1)/4 = 2
Use the comments section to support your ratings and elaborate on specific effects users can expect to experience when taking the drug. The comments are the most important medium to help others learn because it is your chance to describe how the drug makes you feel as well as warn others of possible dangers involved.
Users can submit Experiences at DrugCritics.com that allow them to report on specific encounters with drugs. Users can describe powerful and profound experiences as well as difficult or disaster experiences. Any experience that the drug user learned from can be submitted as an Experience at DrugCritics.com so others can learn from them too.
DrugCritics.com does not promote any type of drug use and we strongly encourage anyone with drug abuse or addiction problems to seek help immediately.
